Last month I got to spend a weekend with Refinery29 for Secret Deodorant's Epic48, in my beautiful city Los Angeles. I road my bike to the farmer's market, picked up plants from my favorite plant store, had friends over for dinner in my backyard, went up to the Griffith Observatory and ended it all by watching the sunset at the beach. Of course we had a crazy heatwave that weekend with temps somewhere around 105. Not ideal or very fall-like, but we made the best of it.

I've been a fan of Hackwith Design House for a while now and was thrilled when they sent me the Royal Jumper to feature on my blog. It's just the kind of thing I like to wear. It's comfortable, stylish and a gorgeous color. I also love the faint plaid pattern and it has pockets (my favorite). Hackwith releases less than 25 of each style, which assures your clothing will be unique and of course made with love (in America!). Every week they release a new design and today this jumper gets released (only 12 were made). Make sure to check out their site to see all their designs.

On our last night in Marin, we drove to my favorite mountain - Mount Tamalpais, to watch the sunset. It is a magical place with redwood forest to one side and rolling hills of gold to another. The wind was severe, but the transcendent views stopped me from minding.

forever 21 hatOn our drive to the campsite in Napa, one of our friend's cars over heated. Since we had a little time to kill waiting for AAA, James and I explored this unmarked road lined with oak trees. In Los Angeles, roads overgrown with lush greenery are a rarity, so It was somewhat of a welcomed change of scenery.

Last month I was asked by Rue Magazine to participate in their Gap Styld.by campaign. I know, such a dream come true! I got to pick a few items from Gap's summer collection to mix with some of my own. I chose a classic v-neck and bright wedges which helped me get that "sweet with an edge" look, I'm always trying to implement in my own style. This has pretty much been my uniform lately- boyfriend jeans, a collared shirt, loafers in the day, heels and a little lipstick at night. I had been searching for the perfect ripped boyfriend jean for a while until I saw these on Catherine of The Life Styled. When she told me they were from Zara, I went to find them the very next day and they have been on heavy rotation since.

On Sunday the boyfriend and I took a bike ride around our neighborhood. The sun was shining and it seemed like the perfect occasion to wear my new favorite dress. I am not usually one for cutsie patterns, but this dress was irresistible to me with it's vintage cut and subtle colors.

I love these h&m pants. They've been a fun and daring {for me} addition to my spring wardrobe. Sadly I only got to wear this outfit for a few hours because it got way too hot for pants and long sleeves. But I'm glad we managed to get a few shots in first.
I can't believe a week ago today we were driving back from Palm Springs. This week went by at lightening speed and I'm thrilled to be welcoming the weekend. But before I can enjoy a few days off, I've got a photo shoot for Glitter Guide today. Fun fun!

SWEET STYLE. A GRAY DAY
We had the most amazing time in Marin this past weekend. We got to do non stop cuddling with the most adorable babies and I got the autumn weather I've been dreaming of. It seems the only time we can photograph style posts these days is when we go out of town. It's as good a time as any I guess, since the backdrops are ever changing. On this day, we drove to the Tomales Bakery for cheese sticks and hot apple cider and then later stopped by Hog Island Oyster Co. for some of my favorite kumamotos. It was drizzling and the trees were covered with the most vibrant red and orange leaves. I was in heaven...

The boy and I decided to drive up to the bay area last night to see both of his sister's and their new babies. I am so excited to spend the weekend cuddling with his one month and one week old nieces. Lucky me!

While the boyfriend and I were up in Marin we checked out a place that was high on my list- the headlands. I had seen photos of the center for the arts {here} and had already fallen in love with the cracked walls, tin ceilings, exposed beams and Edison bulbs. Seeing it in person I was overwhelmed with how incredible a place it was. The views of the ocean, the rolling hills and the forrest combined with the beauty of the building felt almost dream like. I highly recommend a trip up there next time you are in Marin. I already want to go back...

Here is the last photo shoot from our weekend trip to Ojai. Our friend's have the most beautiful garden you have ever seen and I've been dying do a photo shoot there during magic hour. At 7 o'clock in Ojai the light is spectacular, we actually call it the "pink moment" because the surrounding mountains turn the most vibrant shade of pink. It is quite magical...

While we were in Ojai we finally got around to something James and I have been meaning to for over a year now...a photo shoot at the abandoned gas station on Ojai Avenue. It is so cinematic when it's lit up at night and Phil and Afton were great sports and perfect subjects. You wouldn't believe the looks of horror we got as cars passed. It was as if we're only wearing underwear or something. That's what you get for doing a photo shoot on the main drag in a small town. But totally worth it if I do say so...
