There were so many amazing photos from Lauren's birthday, I had to split them up into two posts. So come back tomorrow for more fun 50's photos!
As for my outfit, I decided to wear pieces I already had in my closet, like my Joan costume from two Halloween's ago. Yes it's a little more early 60's, but I thought I would make it work. I threw on some jewelry I already owned with a few added F21 pieces, my favorite, classic peep-toe pumps, with the perfect 2.5 inch heel {very 50's!} and a vintage coat I've had since high school. Add some red lips, Audrey hair and my specialty- winged liner {check my how-to here} and I had quite a vintage look going...

SWEET STYLE. PUMPKIN PATCH

The Boyfriend and I took a drive to the pumpkin patch in Pomona last Thursday. Yeah, we were a little late on the pumpkin train due to our recent travel. It was a gorgeous autumn day, except for the 80 degree weather. No, I did not dress appropriately. It was one of those days I just didn't feel like being photographed. The boyfriend and I went downtown the other day to snap a few shots and  watch the first game of the world series (wish I cared about baseball). SWEET STYLE. THE BOWREY

Wouldn't life have it that the one day/night I bring my camera out (that thing is heavy!) in NYC,  I am wearing two pieces that have already been featured on Sweet Thing. Of course I wore four other outfits the rest of the trip and there isn't one photo to prove it. Ah well, it happens. This time I am wearing my new favorite H&M dress with tights (that never came off) and my old favorite leather jacket.
What an awesome day...we went to brunch at The Smith with my sister and her boyfriend, visited with friends in the LES, saw a few CMJ shows then back uptown to have vino with more friends...

When I'm attending a wedding, It's hard to balance the urge to photograph everything in sight and also enjoy myself. This time I did my best to do just that. Honestly, I only wish I had photographed more people at the wedding, the outfits were so inspiring (like the bride, wow did she look amazing). There just wasn't enough time to get every shot I wanted. I left that to the talented wedding photographer Tec Petaja. 







Something very exciting happened while James was photographing me in the mirror below...Martha Stewart Weddings pulled me aside to photograph me "reading" the menu. Ahhhhh!!! Since my photographer/boyfriend is still in NYC, I haven't done any style shoots of late. Then I remembered I have an extremely talented photographer for a father. Lucky me! While assisting him on a photoshoot yesterday in Venice, I asked him to snap a few shots of my outfit. It was chilly and gray in Venice, very fall like weather, so I wore a hat and my new Dolce Vita for Target boots...

I had an incredible time last weekend in Las Vegas, for my friend's bachelorette weekend. It began with a road trip filled with salty snacks and lots of laughs. I had every photographers nightmare happen last week. I lost hundreds of photos after my cf card got corrupted (don't ask me how). They were more photos of my recent trip to the bay area. James and I had some work to do in Venice yesterday so we thought we would make a day of it and have a little photo shoot. Venice is a beach town, and probably the most casual place in Los Angeles. James and I decided last minute to drive up to Marin County for the weekend, to see his family. I love an impromptu adventure, so I threw some clothes in a bag and we were off.  Marin is truly one of the most magical places on earth. We met some friends Saturday on top of the breathtaking Mount Tam, to watch the sunset. What a treat!..
