It's official, I want to live inside the Jayson Home Spring 2012 catalogue. There are so many pieces I would love to have in my home- hello magnificent wingchair and effortlessly hung Turkish towels.
As usual I'm feeling inspired by both masculine and feminine looks. In the daytime I tend to dress somewhat tomboyish, but for evening I love to throw on some heels and lipstick. Do you feel more one style than another, or are you a little of the two?
Happy Monday! This weekend was just what I needed...James and I rode bikes all over our neighborhood, explored the Palihotel Melrose and enjoyed delicious meals at Cecconi's, Cook's County and 800 Degrees. I feel relaxed, happy and ready for a new week. How was your weekend?
This week has been wonderful in many ways with lots of photo shoots and a Bon Iver show, but my-oh-my am I tired. I am hoping to take a break from my camera and computer and spend some time outdoors this weekend, soaking up this gorgeous weather and perhaps enjoy a leisurely brunch. What about you, any fun weekend plans?
Hello my dears, this is a little sneak peak of the photo shoots I've been working on this week. Things have been a little busy, but I wanted to check in and say hi. I can't wait to share more images with you next week!
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Tibor Kalman's Sky Umbrella, the MOMA Design Store sent me one to photograph in anyway I liked. I asked my beautiful friend Afton to model and we wandered around enjoying the perfect spring day.
**The MOMA Design Store is offering 20% off on all versions of the Sky Umbrella with code “SKY20” through April 30
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was mostly spent working on graphic jobs and a photo shoot- But I managed to sneak a movie/date night in with the fellow and some friends. I have another shoot this afternoon and then tonight we are going to see Bon Iver in Pomona. What a fabulous start to the week.
The last few weeks have seemed to fly by. I blinked and somehow it's mid April. While I have yet to break out a spring dress, the flowers are blooming and the air smells sweet. This weekend is the first weekend of Coachella. The city seems emptier during Coachella and it's a time I have grown to love in LA. There is part of me that wishes I was going this year, but having a slightly more peaceful city sounds nice too. Here is a little look at my life of late and a few of the sweet things making me smile...
When it comes to interiors, I am torn on styles. I love modern spaces with pops of color and I also love more neutral spaces filled with antiques and curiosities. I am ultimately trying to get better at balancing the two, but it makes it harder for me to make decorating decisions. Do you clearly sway one way more than another, or do you also like to mix?
Last month I attended my friend Ali's baby shower above the restaurant Gjelina. Every detail was so adorable, not to mention the space is one of my all time favorites. I couldn't help but go around capturing every corner and moment. I also got to spend time with my dear friend Lilly and her insanely cute two month old daughter Clementine. Don't you want those yellow moccasins in your size?
My talented friend Lauren Spencer King just updated her Spencer Studio etsy shop with seven new pieces. She takes vintage photographs and extends the scene with a detailed drawing. Her work is so unique and beautiful. I urge you to check out her shop. A sneak peak of her charming Silver Lake apartment was also featured yesterday on Design Sponge {photographed by my friend Kate}.

How was your holiday weekend? I loved looking through all the Easter and Passover instagrams. I had such a wonderful weekend, I'm pretty sad it's over. I spent Saturday with one of my best friends walking around downtown LA and snapping photos. Later that night James and I headed to our friend's house in Pasadena for dinner and a slumber party. It was so fun waking up in their house, it almost felt like a mini vacation.
Happy weekend my sweet readers! I have been a busy bee working on my new photography website. It was long overdue, but I'm finally making it happen. I think I had been putting it off because I knew it would be overwhelming to say the least. Trying to narrow down eight years of photos to ones that best showcase my work/style and make sure they are all color corrected/retouched takes time and energy. I can also be very judgemental of my work and often second guess my choices. I know it will all be worth it though.
Do you have any fun plans this weekend? I'll be spending time with some friends, working on my website and hopefully squeeze in some reading. Catching Fire is calling my name!
1. Jagwar Ma // Come Save Me 2. Tennis // My Better Self 3. Graffiti 6 // Goodbye Geoffrey Drake 4. Porcelain Raft // Unless You Speak From Your Heart 5. Beach House // Myth 6. Blouse // Into Black
Here is another mix, this time put together by yours truly. A lot of this music is from bands/artists I've recently gotten into with a few favorites thrown in- like the new Beach House. I listened to this mix while I worked yesterday and it was the perfect accompaniment. There may have even been some dancing in my chair. photo via
Last week I got to spend the day with Erin and Michelle of Broke Girls Guide photographing their favorite shops on Abbot Kinney {in Venice} for Glitter Guide. Since I work around the corner, Abbot Kinney is a place I know and love and jumped at the chance to photograph it. There were so many photos that they couldn't all possibly be used, so I thought I'd share a few of the extras as well as some of my favorites from the post.
Somehow it's April, which means Easter is just around the corner. Can you believe it?! Whether you're religious or not, I love the idea of having friends over for a potluck brunch. Set up a little Mimosa or Bloody Mary bar and you're good to go.
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was perfectly low-key, which was just what I needed. I spent most of it editing photos and reading The Hunger Games. Yes, I finally succumbed and joined the masses and I quite enjoyed it!
Looking over my photos from the last few weeks reminds me that life is good. I've stayed busy with work, seen some great bands play, been to a friend's Groundlings show and even had a 2am dance party in our friend's living room. I'd say I'm one lucky gal. Here is a little look into my life of late and the sweet things making me smile...
