Here is a new mix put together by my sister Merry. I'm thrilled to have Merry guest DJ'ing because she works in the music business and has killer taste. I can't get enough of that Sky Ferriera song. It has a very 80's Tiffany/Debbie Gibson vibe with a modern twist. I hope you enjoy it!

HAPPY WEEKEND

Happy weekend! I took this photo in downtown LA earlier this week because I loved the building. They sure don't make them like they used to. Spending time downtown always reminds me that I live in a city. I love to imagine the street cars of the 20's and people dressing up to go to one of the many deco theaters. Sadly most of those theaters have turned in to cheap clothing shops or electronics stores, but a few beauties still remain.

I can't exactly host a girls night at the moment since all of my things are in boxes, but that is one of those things I am really looking forward to doing in my new place. I've had the pleasure of attending a few lately and I always leave feeling energized from all the interesting conversation and awesome tunes.  I feel so very thankful for all the ladies in my life.

Sweet. Pendleton Pillow $38
Sweeter. Pendleton Moccasin $69
Sweetest. Pendleton Camp Blanket $98

How was your weekend my dears? Mine was spent with friends, working and scouring craigslist for pieces for my new place. Since I've been coming across all kinds of sweet things, I decided to create a pinterest board of my favorite craigslist finds in the LA area. Of course feel free to defollow this board if you don't live in Los Angeles. If you are a local, you just might find the perfect piece for your home. I'll be updating it regularly.

LATELY

The last few weeks have been a little all over the place with emotion. I have been packing up my house, living and working from home during construction, all the while trying to find a new place. On the bright side, I finally found a house that I will be moving into in just one months time. This new place feels right in so many ways. It is totally adorable and while I'm ridiculously excited about my new neighborhood and the memories I'll make there, It's still difficult saying goodbye to my current house that I've known and loved for seven years. Alas, it's time for new, new, new... new year, new life, new me. Here is a little look at my life of late and a few of the sweet things making me smile...
Happy Weekend! xo

MIX IT UP // GIVEAWAY

A little over a week ago my friend Lauren hosted her second annual cd swap, which is pretty much the best idea ever. I came home with six mixes full of amazing music I can't stop listening to. You too can own all six mixes, because Lauren is hosting a giveaway on her blog The Sphinx & The Milky Way.  You have until 11:59 pm the night of January 25th to enter. Check out her blog for more details. Good luck!

SNAPSHOTS FROM TAHOE

I meant to post these photos last week, but this moving thing is really getting the best of me. I have so many photos from Lake Tahoe that I decided to split them up into two posts. While most of our friends skied or snowboarded, my friend Jacqui and I wandered around taking photos of the gorgeous scenery. Her boyfriend grew up nearby so he was also a very handy tour guide. While I've been to Lake Tahoe before, I've never been in the wintertime and I must say it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The sky is the most unreal shade of turquoise and the way the light hits the lake and the mountains is pure magic.

HAPPY WEEKEND

Well that was a nice short week. Any fun plans for the weekend? I'll be spending some time with friends, continuing to pack up my house and attending a mix party {see photos from the last one here}. So far 2013 is off to a pretty good start.

Isn't this pub adorable? I took this in Nevada City on my way up to Tahoe. I'll be sharing more photos from my trip next week. Until then...happy weekend!

NEW YEAR, NEW HOME

1. Rosegold Flatware $39
2. Bentwood Pendant $169
3. Organic Sheet Set $119
4. Midcentury Dresser $799
5. Dunham Sofa $1,599

West Elm has all kinds of new things I've got my eye on like that amazing Kasbah Rug or that Rosegold Flatware. Since I'll be moving out of my house soon I've got decorating ideas swirling around my head. I'm getting a little ahead of myself since I have yet to even find a place, but I'm trying to stay positive that the right place will pop up soon. I'm going to see a few this weekend and fingers crossed one of them will be right.

BONNE ANNÉE

Happy new year my friends! I just got back from Tahoe and while it was very hard to leave, I am quite thrilled to be back sleeping in my own bed. Now that the holidays are over it's time for me to get serious again about finding a new place and tackling my ever growing inbox. Have I mentioned how excited I am about this new year ahead? Lot's of big changes are on the horizon, some scary and some welcomed. What are you most looking forward to about this new year?
