SWEET. SWEETER. SWEETEST.

Sweeter. Silk Flowerveil Top $135

Happy Monday! I'm loving all three of these silk tops from Madewell. Such interesting patterns and colors. I could see myself wearing each one come fall. Which is your favorite?

How was your weekend? Mine was spent mostly running errands and trying to get my life organized again after being away. It was completely worth taking the week off for my birthday, but  now I'm paying for it with a major to-do list.

SWEET. SWEETER. SWEETEST.

Sweet. Studded Ankle Strap Sandals $89.90
Sweeter. Studded Ankle Boot $189
Sweetest. Jeweled Ballerina $89.90

Happy Labor Day! So far New York has been ridiculously fun, we've eaten at many incredible restaurants, like Red Rooster, Roberta's, Prune & Lupa,  had cocktails on the roof of the Soho Housethe Wythe, saw this seriously unique show, saw these two bands play {I, II} and picnicked in central park. It doen't stop there, because today we're moving to a hotel for the next two nights in Nolita. We've been staying up in Harlem, and while I love it here, it's far away from pretty much everything we want to do.
How do you plan on spending your holiday? I'm hoping to have a pretty low-key day. I need to save up a little energy for my birthday tomorrow, right?

CITY STYLE

1. Acne Rita Shearling Jacket $1,809
2. Wool Hat $19.99
3. Oliver Camera Strap $95
4. Leather Backpack $248
5. Rachel Comey Boots $450
6. Madewell Silk Boyshirt $110
7. Acne High Rise Jeans $200

Tomorrow we're headed to New York and this is what I fantasize wearing while I roam the city, camera in hand. It's only a dream because there's no way it will be cold enough for that amazing Acne jacket with projected temps in the 80's. Nor do I own it. Sigh.

SWEET STYLE. CYPRESS GROVE

Here is another outfit from last week in Marin. I have been wearing my asos coat nonstop along with my loeffler randall smoking slippers. They have quickly become staples in my wardrobe. I found these blue sunnies at Anthropologie recently and couldn't believe the affordable price tag. Since I tend to be drawn to a lot of neutrals I love the subtle punch of color they add to an outfit...

wearing:

f21 trousers {first seen here}
loeffler randall loafers
vintage coach bag {from ebay}
h&m belt
anthropologie sunglasses
gjorjana, wendy mink & catbird rings

SWEET STYLE. A GRAY DAY

We had the most amazing time in Marin this past weekend. We got to do non stop cuddling with the most adorable babies and I got the autumn weather I've been dreaming of. It seems the only time we can photograph style posts these days is when we go out of town. It's as good a time as any I guess, since the backdrops are ever changing. On this day, we drove to the Tomales Bakery for cheese sticks and hot apple cider and then later stopped by Hog Island Oyster Co. for some of my favorite kumamotos. It was drizzling and the trees were covered with the most vibrant red and orange leaves. I was in heaven...

loeffler randall jacket {similar style}
madewell shirt {similar style} & sweater

Annie Hall is not only one of my favorite movies, but a constant source of style inspiration. The quirky, menswear inspired outfits Diane Keaton wears in the movie still feel modern over thirty years later. Now what do you think, should we try and bring back the vest?

DRESSING FOR FALL

1. Blanket Poncho $188
2. Blackwatch Plaid Shirt $72
3. Perfect Chambray Shirt $68
4. Cableknit Crewneck Sweater $98
5. Alexa Chung for Madewell Cora Shirt $135

I can't seem to get enough of collared shirts- they will forever be a staple in my wardrobe. This fall I have been pairing them with cozy sweaters. I love how a collar looks peaking out of a crewneck or an oversized cardigan.

Madewell is offering 20% off all shirts for the next two days! Time to stock up!

Crosby Library Table $1,020
Turkish Fouta $48.82

It's just starting to feel fall like in LA and I am loving every minute of it. My house is a fall house, or at least people tend to say that. During the colder months I want to stay in and entertain more, which is probably why my home feels autumnal. It's when I end up nesting the most. What about you, does your home feel like a particular season?

BACK TO BASICS

Look 1

Look 2

Lately I find myself very drawn to classic and timeless fashion. Pieces that can be mixed and matched a thousand different ways and can be easily dressed up with a brightly colored lip and some sparkly jewels.

WANTED. AUTUMN HOME

Here are a few things I am loving for the home this fall...

Mustard Suzani Napkin $12
Moroccan Wedding Blanket $350

Fall is just around the corner, can you feel it? I'm sure for some of you {not in LA} fall weather has already begun. Lucky! I have already ordered this coat from ASOS in an attempt to will colder temps this way.

Any fun plans for the weekend? I'm going wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley with one of my girlfriends. Just for one night, but I am so looking forward to tasting delicious wine and having some girl time! I'll make sure to take photos and tell you all about it next week. Happy Weekend! xx

WANTED. AUTUMNAL SHADES

1. Uma Cable-Knit Marino Sweater $250
2. Jagz Midi Velvet Skirt $400
3. Marc by Marc Jacobs Faux Fur Trench $500
4. Hutton Tie Trouser $168
5. Charmed Ring Set $28

7. The Perfect Pennyloafer $168
8. Adrianna Satin Pumps $275
9. Marc by Marc Jacobs Chevron Velvet Clutch $280
10. The Leather Transport Tote $148

Right now I am drawn to anything in the tone of falling autumn leaves. I just can't get enough rust, burnt orange and cognac. I am an earth sign after all. These colors feel so rich and comforting. They also look so chic paired with brights like cranberry or teal. What colors will you be rocking this fall?

FEELING IT FOR FALL

Just as I suspected LA's temperate summer was too good to be true. I heard it was insanely hot this past weekend and I couldn't be happier we decided to get away when we did. Even though September tends to be one of our hottest months, I can't help but dream of cozier fall days full of leather accents, wool sweaters and muted earth tones.

J. CREW FALL 2011

I went crazy for the J. Crew fall lookbook and I know I am not alone. Now that most of these items are in stores, I thought I would share four of my favorite looks and just some of the pieces I am lusting after for fall. Now if only I could get my hands on that green trench {look 3}, since it is nowhere to be found...

GREEN WITH ENVY

2. Dots Within Blouse $118
3. Nell's Compass South Candle $38
4. Madewell Cutout Shirt Dress $158
5. Dannijo Cato Ring $150
6. Emerald Fade Heels $428
7. Green Animal Print Playsuit $100

Green seems to be "the" color this fall. I am seeing it everywhere and in every shade. I have always loved green because I think it suits my fair skin and dark hair, but there is a shade out there for everyone. My favorite top right now is an emerald colored Vena Cava I got on Gilt. I can't stop wearing it! I've been pairing it with a orangy-red lip and black high-waisted trousers. I'll make sure to photograph it for the blog soon. Do you have a favorite shade of green or do you stay away from it altogether?

LOOKING FORWARD TO FALL

Here are just a few of the things I'm looking forward to most this fall...
Topshop Hat $50
Madewell Willow Shirt $110
Rebecca Taylor Shadow Daisy Dress $550
Petite Briefcase Bag $118
Steven Pembrook Boot $129

Fall is by far my favorite time of year, I love everything about it- the colors, the layers, the falling leaves. Sometimes it can be hard to get into the fall fashion mindset when it's August and blistering hot outside, but this year has been different. I already pre-ordered those perfect Steven ankle boots above and found a long sleeved dress I have a feeling I'll be living in. Either my love for summer is dwindling, or I'm convinced we actually have seasons in LA. Either way, fall wont ya please come soon.

Happy Weekend! xx
