Wouldn't it be wonderful to skip going out on Valentine's Day and instead have a romantic breakfast in bed? Sounds pretty perfect to me!

SWEET. SWEETER. SWEETEST.

Sweet, Sweeter & Sweetest: Jason Wu for Target {in stores Feb 5th}

Next Sunday Jason Wu's collection for Target hit's stores and believe it or not, nothing is over $59.99. There are so many pieces I've been eyeing and can't wait to see in person. I just hope it doesn't sell out in seconds like some of the past collections. Are you planning to be there bright and early on sunday?

LATELY

The last few weeks have been really quite fun now that I think about it. My mom came to visit a few times, which resulted in a trip to the LA Modern & Contemporary Art Show, a big closet clean out and my office/dressing room feeling more put together thanks to her amazing eye. I got to see my first professional sporting event, catch up with old friends and cross some restaurants off our "must try" list. Here is a little photographic look at some of the highlights...

Happy Weekend! xo

SPRING DREAMING

1/2/34/5/6

It was 80 degrees in LA yesterday and it's supposed to stay warm all week, which of course has me getting giddy about spring. Flowers blooming, pretty white frocks and perhaps even a trip to New York City are some of the sweet things I am looking forward to the most this Spring. What are the things you're most excited about?

1. Wire Cube Shelves $79.95
2. Honey $12
3. Honey Dipper $7.99
4. Lotus Dinnerware $4-10
5. Paper Straws $9.43
6. Weck Jar Set $18
7. San Pellegrino Sparkling Water $5.99
8. Turkish Towel $34.50

I completely fell in love with Danielle Moss' Chicago apartment in the latest issue of Rue and those adorably styled shelves in her kitchen. It's making me feel inspired to get my own open shelving in order.

DRAWINGS BY MIKE MILLS

One of my most cherished gifts over Christmas was this book given to me by my boyfriend. It is a book of drawings from one of my favorite films of last year, Beginners. There are so many things to love about this movie, like Christopher Plummer or getting to see the LA I know and love, but my favorite part had to be the drawings. The director, Mike Mills drew all of them himself (he happens to also be an artist and graphic designer) and they are interspersed through out the film. If you haven't seen it, you must rent it immediately. I am sure you will fall in love with it as much as I did.

Any fun plans this weekend? Tonight we are going to dinner and then to see the film Pina, which is a conceptual dance movie. It looks so incredibly beautiful, I can't wait.
Happy Weekend! xo

POP OF COLOR

one. Vince Fine Knit Sweater $241.50
two. Coral Geometric Necklace $43
three. Acne Highrise Skinnies $240
four. Clare Vivier Suede Tote $302
five. J. Crew Metallic Loafers $248
six. House of Harlow Carmen Sunglasses $135

I'm really feelin' a little P.O.C. {pop of color} these days. I am drawn to colors but usually in small doses. I love a casual outfit like this kicked up a notch with a bright coral necklace or even a neon bag. It makes it feel modern, yet it's still wearable. What about you, are you a little color shy like me or do you live and breathe color?

SNEAK PEAK. MY OFFICE

I realized it had been a while since I photographed the progress of my office/dressing room so I thought I would share a little sneak peak. I must say I have completely slacked off at making it a functional room I actually want to be in. I hate sitting at a desk and tend to do most of my computer work on our living room sofa. This room has really been more useful as a dressing room. I've even considered turning my desk into a dressing table so I don't have to do my hair and makeup awkwardly infront of my credenza. As soon as it feels a little more put together, I promise to share photos. You may even see a Style at Home feature from me on Glitter Guide one of these days.

LATELY

These last few weeks have been truly lovely. I have tried to focus on taking more time for myself, which can be hard as a freelancer, but I think I succeeded. I checked out the incredible California Design 1930-1965 exhibit at LACMA, which I highly recommend for all you  modern design lovers. I spent the day checking out furniture and fabric stores with my mom who was in town and even got an evening to myself to curl up on the couch and watch bad TV. Here are a few more things that made these past weeks so sweet...

  • Getting home decor inspiration from two new books, Design Sponge at Home and Bohemian Modern
  • Heading to the Apple store with the boyfriend to get him an iPhone. Now we are one happy, Apple loving family.

  • Taking a moment after work to watch the sun set.
  • Spending a friday night at the museum {LACMA} with friends.

  • $4 tulips adding color and life to my home.
  • Finding places for my mom's most recent paintings.

Happy Weekend! xo

HOW PINTERESTING

1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8

These are just a few of my most recent pins. Lately I find myself pinning lots of interiors. Decorating and updating our place has been high on my list for a while now. I've had to come to terms with the fact that decorating on a tight budget takes time. These next few months I want to focus on saving for a couple new pieces of furniture, buy less knick knacks and have a garage sale. It is a new year after all.

What is pinteresting to you at the moment?

SNAPSHOTS FROM MARIN

These shots were taken over Christmas in Marin. Believe it or not, half of them were taken with my iPhone (can you guess which ones?). Our first night at the Ranch the temperature was somewhere in the 20's which felt cozy and festive. We woke up to frost on all the grass and plants and in the sun it sparkled almost like snow. It has been magical to keep returning back here and capturing the seasons. This time felt noticeably wintry- the usually lush garden was in hibernation and the trees were bare and gray. As someone who grew up with Christmas in southern California, it was a welcomed change.

Somehow it's the weekend again! This week seemed to fly by. Do you have anything planned? We are thinking about checking out Pacific Standard Time, before it's too late. Happy Weekend! xo
