Very soon I'll be heading to Lake Tahoe to spend new years with friends. It's been far too long since I've seen snow and even longer since it was not of the city variety. I am very much looking forward to the wintery change of scenery and of course spending time with some of my oldest friends. My wardrobe is seriously lacking in cold weather clothing, so I'm crossing my fingers I've packed appropriately.

How is your holiday shopping going my dears? I have a few more little gifts to buy. While I do love shopping online, around the holidays I prefer shopping in stores with all their pretty decorations. Spending hours wandering around stores mean flats or comfy boots for me. A note pad is also helpful for staying organized.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Ojai to spend Thanksgiving with my family. I'm feeling a little sassy these days and sequin shorts feel like a necessity. I really like them paired with a cozy sweater for a slightly toned down look. Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday and I couldn't be more excited to spend a few days relaxing in the beautiful country and spending time with loved ones. I need a little time to decompress after all of these big life changes. Where are you headed for the holiday weekend?

Today I am thrilled to be teaming up with Lookmatic and IFB for their #SeetheWorld contest. I am wearing the FDR and Kitty frames both of which showcase the many parts of my personality. The FDR's  are my favorite pair of glasses because they make a statement in a subtle way. They show of my more serious side- that loves to read or sit in a coffee shop and people watch. The Kitty frames show my fun side, my love of travel and all things glamourous. They make me feel like a modern day Audrey Hepburn, and who wouldn't want that?

Happy Monday! This weekend I got to sneak off to the desert for one night to see Divine Fits with friends. It was a seriously incredible show, which I'm sure had something to do with being so close we we're practically on stage. It was so much fun that I'm not feeling quite ready for a new week just yet. It's that time of year, where all I want to do is pretty much live in the kitchen. I have never been much of a baker, but lately I have become consumed with it. I'm determined to be good/better at it. I always like the ability to improvise when cooking and I think the main reason I'm slow to come around to baking is the mathematics involved. But, I've got to say I'm quite enjoying the challenge of using more of my left brain. What about you, do you like the simplicity of following a recipe, or do you like to add/subtract ingredients as you go?

Even though it's far too hot in LA for a jacket or coat, I can't stop thinking about them. It might have something to do with recently finalizing plans to spend New Years in snowy Lake Tahoe. I realize it's a while away, but it'll be the first time I've seen snow in four years so I'm extra excited.

Finding the perfect black ankle boot has proven harder than expected. The ideal heel height and the taper of the boot are both factors in deciding on a pair. Those Rachel Comey Mars booties have been on my list for quite sometime, but the price is a little hard for me to digest. One day I'll bite the bullet, but for now I really like the simplicity and the price of those "sweeter" boots. Do you have a favorite?
